Tel Aviv University gets the "Israel's best" rank for the first time!

City of Tel Aviv has two prestigious universities: Tel Aviv University and Hebrew University. In international rankings it is always the Hebrew university which comes on the top. But not this time! In THE University rankings, Tel Aviv university beats the Hebrew University for the first time.

    The only in first 200

According to 'Times Higher Education world rankings', Tel Aviv University is the only Israeli university in the first 200. Tel Aviv University gets the 188th position while Hebrew University is ranked in the 201st-225th range.

Understandably all-time the best Israeli university Hebew University was not happy with this news. In a press release, Hebrew University wowed to take back the number first spot in the upcoming other rankings...

The bad news is: We are beaten by Turkish Universities, by 4 of them...

The surprise of this year's ranking is the rise of the Turkish universities and the speed they climbed the ranks... 4, 'Four' Turkish universities got higher rankings than Tel Aviv University, the best of Israel. That means, Israeli universities can no longer claim "we are the best in the region". Turkey's 'Middle East Technical University' gets 85th position, a 103 position better than 188th placed Tel Aviv University... Also 139th placed Bogazici University, 165th placed Isanbul Technical University and 182th placed Sabanci University also do better than any Israeli university...
